The alumni mentoring program is set up so that incoming freshmen can have the experience of learning about FarmHouse from someone who has already been there. A pledge is set up with an alumnus, who will be his own personal mentor, or friend in less formal terms. The two men can interact socially as often as they like. An alumnus/freshman relationship could consist of talking on the phone every so often, or getting together multiple times per week, all depending on the individuals. Most of the time, the alumnus will meet with the freshman, a couple times a month or possibly even more, and will be there to call if the freshman has any questions. The hope is that the lives of the freshman will be further enlightened by the experience of spending time with another FarmHouse man who knows what it was like, and can share advice for situations, good and bad. The mentoring program will also keep the alumni informed on how the house is doing, and will give them a chance to continue their role in FarmHouse Fraternity.
